Sarah sails to winter resting spot
Tony Davis of Arey’s Pond Boatyard in Orleans sailed our beautiful Catboat Sarah from Hyannis to Arey’s Pond, where she’ll stay for the winter.
“Catboat Sarah left her slip at the maritime museum at 8:15 am on November 3rd, with a fair west breeze under a cloudless sky and tidal currents in our favor all the way to Arey’s Pond.
Sarah sailed and handled beautifully for the six and a half-hour trip. We had a short layover at Stage Harbor in Chatham waiting for the tide to come up, in order to do the inside route to Pleasant Bay. At times she was doing 7 knots, and we were close to a reef, but she handled fine.
Sarah is a great boat and she wants to sail — it was very evident while aboard her. Thanks for letting us bring her around.”
