Celestial Navigation

  • Cape Cod Maritime Museum 135 South Street Barnstable, MA, 02601 United States (map)

Join instructors Larry Hall, former winner of the celestial navigation division of the Marion-Bermuda Race, and Jim Geil, retired captain of the sail training ship Tabor Boy, to learn the principles of celestial navigation - the science of finding one's way using the sun, moon, and stars. We will begin in the classroom at the Museum, and then move to nearby Kalmus Beach where each of us can take a noon sun sight (weather permitting). Designed for beginners and expert navigators.

$50 for non-members, $40 for members

Lunch will be provided: sandwiches, chips, drink. Please email info@capecodmaritimemuseum.org with dietary requirement or allergies.
