surfboat restoration
In the Fall of 2018, the museum welcomed a historic boat in need of restoration to our permanent collection.
History restored, one plank at a time.
This is an original surfboat used by the US Lifesaving Service Station along the outer Cape coast. Staff and volunteers will be restoring the surfboat in order to complete our collection of historic boats of Cape Cod. The surfboat is a 24ft 6 in, Race Point-style surfboat from the Cape Cod National Seashore. Visitors are welcome to watch the restoration project and engage in conversations with our boat restoration experts.
