“They dive. They haul. They inspire. Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage shows how determination—and a love for clean water—knows no age.”

Since 2017, this fearless team of swimmers, ages 65 to 85, has been cleaning ponds across Cape Cod—from Falmouth to Chatham. Moving through the shallows and diving for beer cans, golf balls, fishing lures, waterlogged dog toys, jackets, shoes, and occasionally a tire, cell phone, or even a box of spent fireworks, they leave no trash behind. Everything recovered is passed to the Garbage Collector, paddling alongside in a kayak or canoe. Discover how their dedication protects fish, turtles, and plants, inspires community action, and proves that passion for the environment has no age limit!
